EBSCO eBooks Rapid MARC Delivery Service - EBSCOhost Collection Manager

EBSCO's Rapid MARC Delivery Service allows EBSCOhost Collection Manager account holders to download EBSCO eBook MARC records from ECM.

Note: GOBI customers who opt in to receive MARC records from EBSCO will also be set up with preferences in ECM. They will receive their MARCs via the notification email address stored in their MARC preferences.

Enabling eBooks Rapid MARC Records Delivery

To enable the EBSCO eBook MARC Records service and adjust settings:

  1. Click the MARC drop-down menu in the ECM Books toolbar.

  2. Select Set Up Preferences from the menu.

  3. Check the box for I want EBSCO MARC records.

  4. Select a Preferred output: MARC-21 or MARCXML.

  5. Select a Preferred encoding: MARC-8 or UTF-8.

  6. Enter a Notification email address (or multiple email addresses separated by commas) if you would like to be notified when new MARC records are available for download.

  7. Click Save.

Your MARC record preferences can be adjusted at any time by clicking the Set Up Preferences link in the MARC drop-down menu in the ECM toolbar.

 

Downloading eBook MARC Records

To download eBook MARC Records:

  1. Click the MARC drop-down menu in the ECM toolbar.

  2. Select Download MARC Records from the menu.

  3. Click the Download icon for the order or subscription for which you would like to download MARC records in the Download Link column.

    MARC records are automatically generated for new orders and subscription collections and will be available on this page. Custom requests for MARCs will also appear on this page once generated.

 

Requesting eBook MARC Records

To request custom eBook MARC records:

  1. Click the MARC drop-down menu in the ECM toolbar.

  2. Select Custom MARC Request from the menu.

  3. Enter book IDs in the text field (up to a maximum of 1000) or click the Order ID tab and enter an order ID for your custom MARC records.

    Notes:

    • Enter book IDs separated by commas or on separate lines.
    • Forthe  order ID field, enter a single order ID only. Multiple order IDs will be omitted.
  4. Click Generate MARCs.

When your custom eBook MARC records are ready for download, they can be downloaded from the Download MARC Records screen.
