If you are using new Personal User login values that you have not yet affiliated with your institution's account, you are required to authorize those login values before you can begin using them to access EBSCOhost.
In addition, you may be required to reauthorize your Personal User authentication login values periodically.
Please note: If you authenticate with your institutional login values (IP address, Library Bar Code) and then manually sign in to My EBSCOhost with your personal user credentials, the number of days until reauthorization is required is automatically reset.
To authorize/reauthorize your Personal User login values:
Log in to EBSCOhost with institutional login values.
Note: Institutional login includes accessing EBSCOhost from within your institution via IP address, via referring URL or cookie authentication, as well as via institutional User ID and Password, Library Barcode (CPID), or Patron ID.
Click the Sign In link in the top toolbar to access the My EBSCOhost folder login screen.
The Initialize Your Account screen is displayed.
Enter your Personal User login values in the User Name and Password fields and click Sign In.
Click Update My Account in the top toolbar.
Re-enter your Personal User login values and click Sign In.
If any of the Settings fields are empty, click the Edit button for that field, enter the required information and click Save.
Your Personal User login values are now authorized. These login values can now be used to login to EBSCOhost.
