Can I access my university's databases from my public library web site?

College students and staff (patrons) can access public library databases (using a public library card ID) from an academic institution as long as the patrons are authorized users of that public library and usage is solely for personal use. However, it is not permissible for an individual to access databases remotely from a subscribing or non-subscribing institution if the purpose of the use is for commercial gain through cost reduction or avoidance for a non subscribing institution.
