Records within Institutional Repositories often contain some sort of Document Type information. However, they often do not map the Document Type information to specific Publication Types. EBSCO uses Publication Types for two primary purposes: the first is to generate Publication Type icons and the second is to include the Publication Types within the Source Type Facets.
In order to take advantage of these two features it is necessary to provide a lookup table to explicitly map the various Document Types which occur within your data with the corresponding Publication Types used by EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS).
