If your library offers eBook download capabilities, you may choose to download an eBook to your device and read it offline with the EBSCO eBooks app.
Before you download eBooks
You will need:
- EBSCO eBooks (recommended app available free for both iOS from the iTunes App Store and Android from the Google Play Store)
Note: If your institution has not yet enabled the EBSCO eBooks app for your institution, the Bluefire app is also compatible with EBSCO eBooks.
Authorizing the App
After downloading the EBSCO eBooks app, open the app and tap Authorize to authorize it to read eBooks.
Tap Find Books and use the library locator to find your library in the app before you can search for and download eBooks to your device.
Finding and Downloading an eBook
To download an eBook:
Tap Find Books to access the search screen.
Enter your search terms and tap the magnifying glass icon or select a category in the Browse area to run a search on the app
Tap the Download (Offline) link for the eBook you would like to download.
Log in to your personal My EBSCOhost folder or tap Create a new Account if you do not already have one.
Select a Checkout period from the drop-down menu and tap the Checkout & Download button.
The eBook is added to the Checkout area of your My EBSCOhost folder and begins to download to your device.
Tap Read Now to begin reading or you can continue to search for more eBooks to download to your device.
