Audiobooks can be downloaded using the EBSCO Audiobooks App, available for Apple devices running iOS 8 and higher and Android devices running version 5 and higher. It can be downloaded from iTunes and Google Play.
Once you have checked out an Audiobook, you can download it to the Audiobooks app on your device.
To download Audiobooks using the app:
From the result list, click the Check Out link to check out the Audiobook.
If you are not already signed in, sign into My EBSCOhost with your personal user ID and password.
Note: If you do not have a user ID and password to check out Audiobooks, please see your institution's administrator to learn how to get one.
Select a checkout period from the drop-down menu and click the Check Out button.
Next, you are prompted to download and install the EBSCO Audiobooks App to your Apple or Android device.
After installing the app on your device, open the app and log in with the My EBSCOhost user ID and password you used to check out the Audiobook on EBSCOhost.
Note: If your institution uses SSO authentication, click the Single Sign On link and enter the credentials provided by your institution.
Your checked out Audiobook titles are displayed on the Library screen. Tap Download to download a title to your device.
Tap the cover image to view more detailed information. From this screen, you can choose to Download the title or Play a Sample prior to downloading.
Note: The Audiobook length is displayed above the Download and Sample buttons.
After your title has begun to download, tap the Play button to begin listening to the Audiobook.
Removing an Audiobook from the App
To remove an Audiobook:
From the library view, tap the Audiobook you would like to remove.
Tap the Remove button.
The Audiobook is removed from the app and is no longer stored on your device. When your check out of the title ends, it will no longer appear in the Checkouts area of your folder.
Audiobooks App - iOS Version
There are a few differences between the Apple and Android versions of the Audiobooks app. Because of this, iOS users should note the following differences with this version of the app:
The Play Sample button is not available on the Apple version of the app at this time.
You can access the Library screen as well as menu options including your Account information and Settings from the toolbar at the bottom of the app.
Remove downloaded Audiobooks from the app by tapping the Trash Can icon in the upper right corner of the app.
