Social Work Reference Center - Browsing Diseases & Conditions

The Diseases & Conditions screen in Social Work Reference Center (SWRC) provides a specific location to browse for Evidence-Based Care Sheets and Quick Lesson documents that cover individual diseases and conditions. You can browse for Quick Lessons only, Evidence-Based Care Sheets only, or both simultaneously.

  • Quick Lessons – Documents that provide a description, signs and symptoms, typical diagnostic and treatment progress tests, and the intervention in which nurses are likely to be involved during care.

  • Evidence-Based Care Sheets – Documents that provide evidence in terms of what is known and how a disease or condition can be treated. The evidence is coded according to its strength and/or source allowing nurses to evaluate and determine its applicability in relation to the situation.

To use the Disease and Conditions screen:

  1. Click the Diseases & Conditions link in the top toolbar or in the Browse box on the left of the Home screen. SWRC displays the Diseases and Conditions page.
