Searching Time Period

You can search time period subject headings using the SW field code:

  • Want to find a book set in Ancient Greece? Search SW Ancient Greece*
  • Interested in books set during the Georgian or Regency era ? Search SW Georgian era* OR SW Regency period*
  • Looking for books set in or about the 16th century? Search by century: SW 16th century
  • Want books set during the 1930s? Search by decade: SW 1930s

Note: The asterisk in the above search represents truncation. To use truncation, enter the root of a search term(s) and replace the ending with an *. Truncation is helpful in this situation if you don't remember the full subject heading. We also added the Boolean operator OR to our search to search for books with either time period heading.
