Why are no results found when I use certain limiter combinations in LRC?

Some limiters on Literary Reference Center and Literary Reference Center Plus can only be applied to certain records in the databases (approximately 53,000 records). These limiters, which can be recognized by labels beginning with the word “Literary,” are specific to the content from MagillOnLiteraturePlus (MOLP). You would use these limiters to target searches to specialized literary subject terms or characteristics of an author. However, when you apply these limiters in combination with other limiters, it is possible to create a search syntax that is too restrictive and no articles will be retrieved. To avoid this, do not combine MOLP-derived “Literary” limiters with other limiters on the Advanced Search screen. Once the desired Author(s) or Work(s) are found, you can then expand your search using links from the records or narrow results using the facets, source types, and other refining tools found on the left side of the result list screen.
