What types of search modes are available when utilizing the AuthoritySearch method?

The following search modes are available when utilizing the AuthoritySearch method:

Relevancy

  • When specifying the search mode Relevancy, the EBSCOhost API AuthoritySearch method runs a search against the specified authority database and returns the most relevant results to your search term.

Alphabetic

  • When specifying the search mode Alphabetic, the EBSCOhost API AuthoritySearch method runs a search against the specified authority database and returns results that begin with your search term.
  • This would be the same as browse (Term Begins With) in the EBSCOhost interface

Boolean

  • When specifying the search mode Boolean, the EBSCOhost API AuthoritySearch method will allow the use of search tags and Boolean operators.

Termcontains

  • When specifying the search mode Termcontains, the EBSCOhost API AuthoritySearch method will search for results with the specified term(s).
