What happens after I have completed an EBSCO eBook order?

This FAQ details what you can expect once you have completed an EBSCO eBooks order by one of several available methods, including MARC record delivery information.

EBSCO Direct Options

  • If your order was placed in EBSCOhost Collection Manager
  • If your order was placed with an EBSCO Sales Rep

EBSCO Partner Options

  • If your order was placed via Ingram’s OASIS ordering system
  • If your order was placed via YBP’s GOBI ordering system

 

EBSCO Direct Options
If your order was placed in EBSCOhost Collection Manager
  1. You place your eBook order in EBSCOhost Collection Manager (ECM).

  2. You receive an e-mail to notify you that an order has been placed in your ECM account. (Sent within 1 hour of your order being placed.)

  3. After the eBooks are fulfilled to EBSCOhost, you receive an e-mail notifying you that your eBooks have been fulfilled. The e-mail includes an attached spreadsheet that lists the detail of the fulfilled eBooks. (Sent within 2 hours of your order being placed.)

  4. MARC Records are fulfilled via OCLC Collection Manager and can be retrieved within 10 business days of your order. Click here for more information.

  5. You will receive an invoice from EBSCO for the ordered eBooks. (Sent within 2 business weeks of your order being placed.)

If your order was placed with an EBSCO Sales Rep
  1. You place your eBook order with your EBSCO Sales representative and the order is entered into EBSCO's ordering system.

  2. After the eBooks are fulfilled to EBSCOhost, you receive an e-mail notifying you that your eBooks have been fulfilled. The e-mail includes an attached spreadsheet that lists the detail of the fulfilled eBooks. (Sent within 2 hours of your order being placed.)

  3. MARC Records are fulfilled via OCLC Collection Manager and can be retrieved within 10 business days of your order. Click here for more information.

  4. You will receive an invoice from EBSCO for your ordered eBooks. (Sent within 2 business weeks of your order being placed.)

 

EBSCO Partner Options
If your order was placed via Ingram’s OASIS ordering system
  1. You place your eBook order in Ingram’s OASIS.

  2. Ingram communicates to EBSCO which eBooks need to be fulfilled and EBSCO fulfills the eBooks to your institution's EBSCOhost platform. Ingram informs you via e-mail that your eBooks have been fulfilled to EBSCOhost.

  3. Ingram provides you with 2 options for MARC delivery. Next steps will depend on which options you select:

    1. If you have elected to receive MARC records from EBSCO (free)

      • MARC Records are fulfilled via OCLC Collection Manager and can be retrieved within 10 business days of your order. Click here for more information.

    2. If you have elected to receive MARC records from Ingram (fees may apply)

      • MARC records for EBSCO eBooks are delivered via your existing MARC delivery process with Ingram.

  4. You will receive an invoice from Ingram for any EBSCO eBooks purchased via OASIS.

If your order was placed via YBP’s GOBI ordering system
  1. You place your eBook order in YBP’s GOBI.

  2. YBP communicates to EBSCO which eBooks need to be fulfilled and EBSCO fulfills the eBooks to your institution's EBSCOhost platform.

  3. YBP provides you with 2 options for MARC delivery. Next steps will depend on which options you select:

    1. If you have elected to receive MARC records from EBSCO (free)

      • MARC Records are fulfilled via OCLC Collection Manager and can be retrieved within 10 business days of your order. Click here for more information.

    2. If you have elected to receive MARC records from YBP (fees may apply)

      • MARC records for EBSCO eBooks are delivered via your existing MARC delivery process with YBP.

  4. You will receive an invoice from YBP for any EBSCO eBooks purchased via GOBI.
