Support - EBSCO Help

Sometimes I find spelling or grammatical errors in articles. What does EBSCO do to prevent these?

EBSCO uses Optical Character Recognition (OCR) spell checking programs during the posting process. Each full text issue is spell checked before posting, but words misread by the OCR software that are incorrect in context but not technically spelled wrong may not be flagged for correction. Our staff also has a list of commonly misread words that they check for as a part of their quality control process, but occasionally a word will be misread that falls outside of this list. All titles are checked by the Full Text Department and most errors are caught and corrected before the issue reaches the product.

If you would like to report a spelling error, please click on Open a Case and provide the details of the error. We appreciate your interest in maintaining databases of the highest quality and the most valuable content.
