EBSCOadmin - IP Address Usage Report

Internet Protocol (IP) is a unique identifier for a computer, device, or group of computers on a TCP/IP network. Users’ machines’ IP addresses are tracked and logged by our system when users log onto EBSCO services. The IP Address Usage Report itemizes “machine” interaction with EBSCO using these identifiers.

To run an IP Address Usage Report:

  1. Log in to EBSCOadmin at

  2. Click Reports & Statistics in the tool bar at the top of the screen.

  3. Click Standard Reports under EBSCOhost/EDS.

  4. On the Usage Reports sub-tab, under Select Option, select the IP radio button.

  5. Period to Show – In the Date Range "from" and "through" drop-down lists, select a time period for the report. (Note: Hourly statistics are based on US Eastern Standard Time.)

  6. Display by – Where the Display by field appears, you can choose to display the data by Month, which provides the details for each month in the period, or you can select Year, which displays the annual totals. Defaults to Month.

  7. Format – Select an output format for the report: HTML, comma delimited, or tab delimited. Comma delimited files output in Microsoft Excel .csv format, and can be read by many spreadsheet programs.

  8. Lines Per Page – Enter the number of lines per each page of the report. Defaults to 25 lines per page.

  9. Click Show Report, Email Report, Schedule Report, or Save Report.
