What are Google Chrome Apps and are they available for EBSCO interfaces?

A Google Chrome App is a web application that runs on the Google Chrome web browser on Chrome OS devices and functions like an add-on or plug-in. Chrome Apps can integrate seamlessly into the Chromebook desktop and look more like desktop applications than traditional web apps. The Chrome App Launcher makes it easy for users to find and start Chrome Apps.

Because a significant number of end users own Chromebooks and Google mobile devices, EBSCO has created Chrome Apps for EBSCOhost, EBSCO Discovery Service and Explora. You can download EBSCO’s Chrome Apps for Chrome OS devices from the Chrome Web Store.

Note: Users of Windows, Mac or Linux platforms will not be able to load Chrome Web Apps. You must be using a Chromebook or other Chrome OS device.
