Business Information Portal for Corporate Learning

This page explains basic searching and browsing strategies for users of the EBSCOhost Business Information Portal. A screen shot with explanation text is included to highlight the click and browse features of the customized landing page designed for Corporate Learning customers.

Searching Strategies
  1. On the home page, type your search term in the Find field.

  2. Click the Search button. The Result List displays.

  3. Use Search Options to fine tune your search:

    • Expand your search by using “Apply related words” or “Find all of my search terms.”

    • Limit your search to only Journals, only Full Text, or to a Date Range.

    • Use SmartText Searching to search a lot of text, such as an email or memo.


The Result List Screen has three columns:

  • Resources are displayed in the center of the screen.

  • Refine your results using the options on the right side of the screen.

  • Learn more using related information displayed on the left side of the screen.

  • Click on a Title Link to read an article or book summary.


Reading an Article or Book Summary

The Detailed Record Screen has two columns:

  • Resources are displayed on the left side of the screen.

  • Tools are on the right side of the screen.

  • Click the Print, E-mail, or Save icon and follow the directions on screen to print, e-mail, or save your results.

  • To create a Folder, select Create a new Account. If you have a Folder set-up already, select the Sign In button at the top of the screen.

    • Select Share and notice that you can also save the whole page of results or the search criteria to your folder.

    • The contents of your folder may be shared with others, allowing for a collaborative online environment.
