What is the Full Text limiter in EBSCO Discovery Service?

The Full Text limiter in EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS) is configurable and allows administrators to enable searchers to limit results to records which have full text  available either online or, if designated, physically available from the library.

Full-text content sources can include:

  • All subscribed full-text EBSCOhost databases (this includes results retrieved via SmartLinking)

  • EDS Partner databases that have a full-text CustomLink set up in EBSCOadmin.
  • EDS custom catalog records that have been identified as full text.

  • Institutional repository records that have been identified as Full Text.

  • Other subscribed content made available via a Local Collection that has a full-text CustomLink set up in EBSCOadmin. (e.g. Lexis-Nexis, NewsBank)

  • Content managed via Full Text Finder that has a full-text CustomLink set up in EBSCOadmin (e.g. can be e-journal collections loaded from other knowledge bases such as SFX, Serials Solutions).
